Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and skilled Residential HVAC Service & Installation Technician to join our team. This role includes both service and installation responsibilities, requiring a technician who can diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC systems, as well as install new equipment in residential homes. We are looking for a high performing technician who wants to maximize their earnings with future commission opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Service & Repair: Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and mini-split systems.
- Installation: Install new HVAC systems, including limited ductwork, thermostats, and ventilation components, ensuring proper operation and code compliance.
- Flat Rate Pricing: Follow company flat rate pricing structure for repairs and service calls, ensuring transparency for customers.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance services to extend the life of HVAC systems and prevent breakdowns.
- Customer Communication: Clearly explain issues, repair solutions, installation options, and pricing while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, HVAC industry standards, and local building codes.
- Documentation: Complete work orders and service records with accurate descriptions of work performed and any recommendations.
- Inventory & Tools: Maintain company-issued tools, equipment, and service vehicle in proper working condition.
- Commission-Based Sales: Identify and offer additional services, system upgrades, and maintenance plans to homeowners (commission earned on sales).

Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 2+ years in residential HVAC service, maintenance, repair, and installation.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC certification from an accredited trade school is a plus.
- Licensing: EPA 608 certification required (Type II or Universal preferred).
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of HVAC systems, troubleshooting, repair, and installation techniques.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in tight spaces, climb ladders, and handle seasonal weather conditions.
- Driving Requirements: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Sales Ability: Comfortable recommending additional services, system upgrades, and maintenance plans to homeowners.
